Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or hickory nuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped raisins
  • 3 cups citron
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • ½ tsp (baking) soda

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve soda in tablespoon hot water. Flour enough to make a stiff batter, drop in small cakes with teaspoon and bake in slow oven.
